PETITION
TO FORM DISTRICT
The
undersigned real property owners request the establishment of a road
maintenance district pursuant to Sections 48-901 to 48-965, inclusive, Arizona
Revised Statutes (the "County Improvement District Laws"), and all
amendments and supplements thereto.
The
name of the proposed district is the Victory Heights Road Maintenance District
of Navajo County,
The
necessity for the proposed district is the need for maintaining public roads
within the district and making limited maintenance-related improvements, as
needed, and the financing of such maintenance and maintenance-related improvements
by the levying of secondary property taxes on the taxable parcels of land within
the district. The public convenience,
necessity and welfare will be promoted by the establishment of the district,
and the real property to be included therein will be benefited by the maintenance
and maintenance-related improvements which can be ordered upon the formation of
the district.
The
boundaries of the proposed district and a map of the district are as shown on Exhibit
A, which is attached to and made a part of this petition. Exhibit A indicates the approximate area
of the proposed district and the public roads therein.
A
general outline of the proposed work is to contract with a private contractor
to make limited maintenance-related improvements to the roads and to maintain
the roads on a periodic basis, all work to be financed by the levying of secondary
property taxes on all taxable parcels within the district.
